In the fast-paced lives of modern individuals, recent research highlights the importance of maintaining healthy eating habits. According to a study utilizing data from the NutriNet-Santé cohort conducted by the French National Institute for Agricultural Research, the timing and intervals of meals throughout the day can play a significant role in preventing cardiovascular diseases.

Maintaining Cardiovascular Health through Dietary Habits.
This study underscores that even in the challenging and busy modern lifestyle where relaxation is hard to come by, having meals at appropriate times can help maintain cardiovascular health.

Significance of Breakfast

According to the research findings, skipping breakfast and having the first meal in the late afternoon increase the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases. The analysis indicates that with each one-hour delay in meal timing, there is a 6% increase in the risk of cardiovascular disease. Therefore, those who have their first meal at 9 a.m. are deemed to have a 6% higher risk of cardiovascular disease compared to those who eat at 8 a.m.

Last Meal Timing and Brain Vascular Health

Furthermore, the timing of the last meal of the day has a substantial impact on brain vascular diseases. Having a meal after 9 p.m. increases the risk of brain vascular diseases by 28% compared to having a meal before 8 p.m. However, there is a tendency for the risk of brain vascular diseases to decrease as the time between the last meal of the day and the first meal of the next day increases. This is analyzed to be due to the influence of meal intervals on functions such as blood pressure regulation and other cardiac metabolic functions.

Recommendations for Healthy Eating Habits

The research team emphasizes that prolonged nighttime fasting and having early morning and evening meals contribute to preventing cardiovascular diseases. These eating habits are understood to positively impact blood pressure regulation and other cardiac functions by affecting the peripheral nervous system.

This study underscores that even in the challenging and busy modern lifestyle where relaxation is hard to come by, having meals at appropriate times can help maintain cardiovascular health. Healthy eating habits not only enhance our quality of life but also contribute to preventing future diseases. Therefore, it is crucial to consider meal timing in our daily lives and consistently manage cardiovascular health by incorporating healthy eating habits.
