For men with testosterone levels below 244 ng/dL, the risk of death from all causes was up to 9% higher compared to men with levels between 340 and 706 ng/dL, and for those with extremely low levels (below 153 ng/dL), the risk of death from cardiovascular disease was up to 32% higher.

 

However, these results don't imply that low testosterone levels directly cause higher mortality rates. The relationship between dehydrotestosterone concentration and all-cause mortality shows a non-linear pattern, and it's also associated with sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) concentration.

 

Through these research findings, middle-aged men should recognize the importance of regularly monitoring their testosterone levels and making efforts to maintain them through healthy lifestyle habits and regular exercise.
