However, medication therapy only alleviates symptoms, so lifestyle changes are essential.
Dietary changes are crucial in managing gastroparesis. Eating small, frequent meals can reduce the burden on the stomach. Avoiding spicy or fatty foods and preferring softer meals are advisable. Regularizing meal times and chewing food slowly can also be helpful.
Furthermore, exercise and massage can aid in managing gastroparesis. Using warm hot packs or warmed towels to raise the temperature of the abdomen and gently massaging the abdomen are beneficial. Additionally, strengthening abdominal exercises can increase abdominal pressure and aid in gastric motility.
