This insomnia not only increases the risk of dementia but also various other conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, depression, and anxiety disorders. Therefore, maintaining sound sleep is vital for dementia prevention. Lack of sleep can result in the accumulation of dementia-related proteins in the brain cells, leading to damage. Thus, maintaining brain health, especially vascular health, is essential for dementia prevention.
