What If You Don't Have an Iron? Exploring Various Ways to Remove Clothing Wrinkles.

by OK2BU 2024. 4. 16.

When clothes get wrinkled and you don't have an iron or it's out of order, it can be a hassle. But don't worry, there are several simple methods to smooth out wrinkles in your clothes without an iron. Here are various ways to remove clothing wrinkles without an iron.

Hanging Clothes in the Bathroom

Hang wrinkled clothes in the bathroom after taking a shower or when the bathroom is steamy. The steam in the bathroom helps to moisten the clothes and effectively smooth out the wrinkles. Lightly tapping the clothes with your hands after hanging them can enhance the effect.

Utilizing the Dryer and Ice

If you have a dryer, put the wrinkled clothes in it along with a few ice cubes. Running the dryer for about 10-15 minutes will help to remove wrinkles from the clothes. The steam generated by the melting ice in the heat of the dryer effectively moistens the clothes and eliminates wrinkles.

Using a Spray Bottle with Vinegar and a Hairdryer

Fill a spray bottle with water and evenly spray it on the surface of wrinkled clothes to effectively remove wrinkles. A more effective method is to mix water and vinegar in a 1:1 ratio and put it in the spray bottle. The acidity of vinegar, contrasting with the alkaline components in detergent used during washing, helps to smooth out wrinkles. After spraying, use the hot air from a hairdryer to dry the clothes. However, for delicate fabrics, maintain a distance between the clothes and the dryer, and use a low to medium heat setting.

Using a Kettle or Pot

When you don't have an iron, you can also use a kettle or pot to remove clothing wrinkles. Boil water and hold the wrinkled part of the clothes close to where the steam is coming out. Wrinkles will smooth out as the steam contacts the clothes. It's recommended to maintain a distance of about 20cm between the clothes and the steam. Additionally, use a curling iron to smooth out areas that are difficult to handle with a regular iron. Set the curling iron to a medium temperature and lightly heat the areas with wrinkles.
