The vegan diet consisted of 10.3% fat and 75.2% carbohydrates, while the ketogenic diet had 75.8% fat and 10% carbohydrates. The research team collected blood, urine, and fecal samples for systematic analysis.

Participants on the vegan diet for two weeks showed activation of antiviral responses and enhanced red blood cell metabolism. In contrast, those on the ketogenic diet for two weeks exhibited activation of T cells and B cells, along with increased plasma protein levels in tissues like blood, brain, and bone marrow.

 

The vegan diet, with its various vitamins and antioxidant components, demonstrated anti-inflammatory effects by reducing internal inflammation. On the other hand, the ketogenic diet influenced the composition and function of gut microbiota, contributing to immune enhancement.
